Make a Record
For this tutorial you will need the Photoshop plug-in Radial Blur, from a version 5 or older Photoshop. These are the only PS plug-ins that will work in PhotoImpact. There is an abundance of PI tutorials explaining how to use use third-party plug-ins within PI.
I cannot offer a download of the plug-in or the .dll file necessary as these belong to Adobe.
Also, this tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PI, location of the tools and how they work.
So...if you have the plug-in installed, let's begin.
Open a new canvas 500x500 and using the path tools, draw a black circle to fill the canvas and Center.
You might want to turn on the Grid function for the next step.
Using the drop-down menu, select Continue Draw.
Draw a smaller circle in the center:
When you have your shape like you want it, click the drop-down menu again and
make it a 2D object.
Go to Photo, Noise, Add Noise:
Use these settings:
Go to Effects, Blur, Radial Blur and accept the default settings.
Looks like a record, doesn't it?
To finish, use the first 2 steps above to make a label for your record, being careful to line up the holes.
Use the text tool to add any finishing touches to your label.
Make an LP record simply by making a smaller hole and label. Use the Path Shape tool to make increasingly smaller black circles for record tracks.
