Using Halloween Cut-outs
Download zip file with 3 cutouts and pumpkin .ufo images.
Open the pumpkin image and a cut-out image in PI. I'm using the haglets cut-out for this tutorial.
Make the haglets image active and using the Path tool, draw a yellow 2D ellipse slightly smaller than the cut-out. Use the Transform tool, if necessary, to adjust the size.
Drag the ellipse, then the cut-out to the pumpkin image.
We could leave it just as it is, but let's add a little dimension to it.
R/C the cut-out and duplicate. Using the path tool, change the color of the duplicate to a color close to the lines in the pumpkin.
Use the transform tool to make it 2 or 3 pixels smaller than the original. Using the Pick tool, send the lighter copy to the back of the original and position it so it looks 3D.
Another option is to activate the yellow ellipse and use Effect, Lighting, Lights. Choose the middle light in the pop-up menu and click OK.
And there is your pumpkin cut-out!
To see how the cutouts are done, activate one of them, go to the Path Edit function and hit the Toggle mode button.
Below is a sample of some of the other cut-outs I have done that are available on my CD.
