Circles
Learn a technique for making trendy circles and the background for use in scrapbooking or for a background image.
Start by opening a 600x600 blank canvas. Using the Path tool, draw a rounded rectangle, any color, to nearly fill the canvas. Be sure to leave enough space around the edges to add the circles.
Still using the Path tool, switch to the circle shape and make several different sized circles and place them randomly around the edges of the rectangle.
Once you have the circles made and placed as you want them, R/C and select all objects, then R/C again and Merge as single object.
Now go to Edit, Trace Edges, Selection Marquee. When the dialog box opens, simply hit OK to accept the default settings.
On the toolbar, change the Horizontal Deform to 2D Object.
Drag your new object to it's own 600x600 canvas.Do not close the original image. We will use it again.
Still using the Path toolbar, change the background color to any color you like(I left mine white for now) and add a white border, size 12.
Add a shadow, using these settings:
Go back to the original image and click Undo until you have all the objects active again.
Delete the rectangle, click a circle to make it active, then R/C, Select all objects.
Drag these circles to the canvas with the background and align them inside the background.
*Hint*You might want to click off the border to get the circles placed in the right spots, then click the border on again.
Use these colors,if you like and change the color of each circle.
Continue on your own making different sized circles in different colors until you have something like this:
