My Way of Life....my brother wrote this especially for me, to be added to this page.
Get in..sit down..shut up..and HOLD ON!!
In my opinion, truck drivers are the most misunderstood professionals in the American work force. They have been berated and maligned for as far back as I can remember.

My Award....
Not only do they have to deal with overzealous DOT offficers, unfair traffic laws and more rigorous safety inspections than an average person, they spend days, weeks and even months away from their families and worst of all, they have to take a lot of flak from the very people they are working to bring goods to.
My special friend is a driver, I have two brothers who are former drivers,I was married to a driver several years ago and I am a former manager of a truck stop which closed down late last year; therefore I know from whence I speak.
Truck drivers are a very different breed of people--can't just anyone jump behind the wheel of a big truck and become a truck driver. It takes a special kind of man or woman to stay with it out there on the road and be a Truck Driver. It is not a title to be taken lightly, nor to be put down.
People just do not stop and think about how much drivers do for the economy in this country. Next time you walk into a grocery store, a Wal-Mart or the finest department store-just take a minute to stop and think of all the things you could not buy if some driver had not spent days and days on the road to bring merchandise to this particular place.
So, the next time you're out buzzing down down the interstate, be nice to that big truck. Don't cut in front of him (he can't stop 80,000 pounds of rolling freight on a dime, you know), don't make any sudden stops or turns without plenty of advance notice and why not just give that driver a big ol' wave just to let him know you appreciate all his hard work.
